Arts fishing club @ Johhny Brenda’s

Abigail Dempsey opened the night. A talented musician from Philly sang a bunch of original songs. They were stories about working a job that you don't want to work so you can do what you want and a song about getting away from a douchebag ex and she had to put a restraining order on him. She had a friend that moved from texas sing with her they were in a band together she is an amazing singer and essentially a one-man band playing and guitar and then looping vocals to play a song with no bad but her while harmonizing with her friend little moody to start but overall up lifting. The audience was engaged and enamored from the beginning and she talked with the audience cheering as soon as light hit her guitar on the stage. Some people actually knew her well enough to ask for songs. She was chatting with a bunch of people after her set. I had the opportunity to talk to her, and she's super sweet and encouraging. Cardinal Bloom went on next, they are an amazing indie rock band with pop and folk undertones. They are an up-and-coming band from Salt Lake City, Utah, and this was their first time performing in Philadelphia, they made sure to say "Go Birds". When they took the stage, the venue was packed, and the crowd seemed ecstatic to see them. The band opened with a strong performance and kept the excitement going from start to finish. Fans also got to hear their new song, "Burn the House." The audience sang along, danced, and cheered throughout the performance. The band had great stage presence and connected well with the crowd. It was clear they enjoyed performing and appreciated the warm welcome from Philadelphia. Their set left fans excited to see them return. When they ended their set, people in the audience were cheering for 10 more songs. After they left the stage, the band took time to talk with fans and were friendly and down to earth. Arts Fishing Club completely sold out the show and brought an invigorating and dynamic energy to the stage, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights of the night was when the audience chanted for a drum solo, and the band delivered one tenfold, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The chemistry between the band members was evident throughout the set, making every song feel even more engaging. Their enthusiasm was contagious, with fans singing, dancing, and cheering from start to finish. Although they are based in Nashville, Tennessee, there was cheering abound when they said, "Go Birds!" and even changed their stage sign green. That hometown shoutout concreted their connection with the crowd. Fans also heard new songs, including one written in celebration of Pride. Before playing it, the band shared that they believe the answer to solving bigotry is love, a message that was warmly received by the audience. The audience demanded an encore, and it wasn't long before they were back on stage, giving fans even more to enjoy before the night came to an end. After the show, the members of Arts Fishing Club stayed to chat with fans, take photos, and thank everyone for coming. Their friendly, down to earth personalities made a great performance even more memorable and left fans with a lasting impression long after the final song.
